Arriving into Exmouth, the first priority was to restock food, water, gas, fuel then grab the obligatory coffee. We also had a heap of things to collect from the post office, mainly warranty returns (amazing how much stuff can’t cut the mustard being actually used!!)…

Back in a town, we had the choice of a few caravan parks, my favourite place to be! One was doing a deal of ‘stay 4, pay for 3’…not really wanting to hang around we were hesitant to commit. That as it may, it was late in the afternoon by the time we got to Carnarvon and knowing the re-stocking / re-fuelling / washing takes a full day, that was 2 nights gone already. We’d also got the exciting task of….

Passports at the ready….

After making firm friends in Oakabella with ‘Little Aussie Adventurers’ and ‘We’re On Our Way’ (we all travel with our Insta account names!), we started a travelling road train and the 3 families, 6 adults and 8 children, began to head North. We decided to exit Australia for a bit. “How can you exit Australia when you’re inland in such a large country?” I hear you cry…

We were all excited about being back on the road and camp for the night bought us back with a bump into travel mode… a road side pull off with road trains thundering past, but it was free so perfect! A quick look at WikiCamp revealed Cosy Corner as the nearest free camp to base ourselves for a few days exploring the area around Albany. We arrived late in the day as we took the opportunity to restock in Albany and there was only one site remaining, but it was a...

Welcome to the west

As we left Norseman in the dark, we passed a sign warning road users of the obligatory kangaroos, then emus, then horses..! Gulp. I certainly didn’t want to have an unexpected interaction with a kangaroo, let alone a horse..! Lexi, who picks up instantly on any hint of a concern asked what was wrong… “nothing dear”, as we narrowly missed an Owl, then thud a small bird bounced off the windscreen… this was going to be fun drive!
